It could ruin every part of a person's life, including their sense of self-worth and relationships with other people. Because of infertility, many couples can't have children. This puts a lot of stress on their relationships with each other and often leads to feelings of emotional unhappiness and moments of existential crisis. One of the hardest things for a childless couple to do is to get used to not having children, both for themselves and for their partner and for society as a whole.
