The murderer did, though, leave a calling card: a carefully arranged bouquet of flowers. Seattle's best homicide detective, Sgt. Arthur Washington, is called to duty.
Washington prides himself on his case closure rate, but this is one case he can't crack. He is completely baffled, and the murder of Ms. Byars remains unsolved. A year and a half later, another murder occurs in the same grizzly manner. Washington is back on the case, but even the top brass of the Seattle Police Department are stumped.
