In the present studies on the pH analysis of adsorption of methylene blue dye from the production of activated carbon using aqueous solutions of a few species of banana, the stem was investigated. No attempt has been made in the past on a total of 3 species of banana stem simultaneously and it also finds application in the usage of banana stem. Adsorbant was prepared using a simple chemical activation method (using KOH) and methylene blue dye adsorption was studied by batch adsorption experiment. The effect of various parameters like moisture content analysis, dosage effect, the effect of pH, are reported and also preliminary organoleptic tests, biological importance, microscopic studies, macroscopic studies, powder analysis, SEM & EDX analysis of 3 species of the banana stem are also reported. In the batch adsorption experiment, It was found that maximum moisture content was observed in poovan banana (6.55%), and a minimum in Grand Nain (4.43%) was observed. Maximum dosage effect was observed at 20ppm (Elakki banana, Grand Nain and poovan banana).
