Iga Idununganran is the name of the palace of Lagos. It dwells on the functionality of music in African culture. Africa culture is diverse and integrated in their daily life activities. Music as an integral of this culture is not exceptional. Even with the effect of globalization on African culture, the African royal institutions have strived to preserve their culture particularly the music. In most of the palaces, the antiquity musical instruments, musical lyrics, tonal, and other practices can still be seeing in its original forms. The royal kings also have the responsibility of ensuring that the idioms are kept for all ages. Music in the royal courts are used in worship, entertainment, information and games in the courts.
