O knihe

The science and technology associated with pharmacy has progressed enormously over the past few decades. The major objective of writing this book is to present the how to perform the method development of new drug in combination. This book shows method development of Epalrestat and Methylcobalamin in bulk and combined dosage form.Mainly two methods are shown for Epalrestat and Methylcobalamin in combination. The first one is spectrophotometric method and second one is High performance liquid chromatography method. Epalrestat is a aldose reductase inhibitor. By inhibiting aldose reductase epalrestat reduce the accumulation of sorbitol and thus should attenuate cellular damage in patient with persistanthyperglycemia. Methylcobalamin is equivalent physiologically to vitamin B12, and can be used to prevent or treat pathology arising from a lack of vitamin B12 (vitamin B12 deficiency). Combination therapy was associated with faster onset and better symptomatic relief. The results show that combination of Epalrestat and Methylcobalamin is a better option for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy than Epalrestat alone.
