O knihe

The essays collected in this book include study of Phytohaemagglutinin (PHA), a lectin isolated from the red kidney beans (Phaseolus vulgaris). It appears to be involved in red cell agglutination, lymphocyte agglutination and mitogenic activity. PHA also helps in interferon production by white blood cells(WBC) so we hypothesized that may be PHA help in mass production of enzyme by bacterial cell or any other prokaryotic cell. PHA is isolated from beans and it is purified by using ammonium sulphate fractionation, gel permeation and Ion exchange chromatography. Protein concentration and purification fold is determined by folin-lowry and hemagglutinin activity assay respectively. Glucose is released from cellulose by the enzyme cellulase produced from microorganism in fermentation medium. This protein helps in production of cellulase enzyme.
