Citrullus lanatus (Watermelon) belongs to the family Cucurbitaceae. It is botanically called as pepo. This fruit contains Vitamins, aminoacids, Potassum and they are rich in lycophene, a carotenoid pigment. This pigment serves as a powerful antioxidant.
