O knihe
The study deals firstly with measuring antifungal effect of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) and the cement made from it; fluidized bed combustion fly ash (FBCFA) and bottom ash (FBCBA) compared with the performance of conventional pulverized coal combustion fly ash (FA); carbide lime (CLS) compared with the efficiency of comparative industrially manufactured commercial lime (IMCL). The antifungal effect was tested on fungi using the procedure given in technical standard CSN 72 4310. The study confirmed fungistatic properties of all samples as well as Blast furnace cement containing GGBS additions from 65 wt.% to 95 wt.%, with exception of FA and Blastfurnace cements containing GGBS additions lower than 65 wt.%, which have no fungistatic properties.Secondly, the study deals with measuring antimicrobial efficiency of fine ground metallurgical slags, which are as follows: granulated blast-furnace slag with two specific surface areas 340 m2/kg (S1a) and 520 m2/kg (S1b), air-cooled blast-furnace slag (S2), demetallized steel slag (S3), calcareous ladle slag (S4) and copper slag (S5).
