The origin of Ukwuani people has generated much controversy among scholars who have attempted to study it. So far, the dominant narrative gives the Ukwuanis away as people of Benin origin. This branch of historiography has often been rehashed without strong refutation that it came to be accepted as the most authentic. The result is that the peoples' history is distorted and they now found themselves in identity crisis. Relying on evidence obtained from the field that were previously ignored by scholars, this book reveals that Ukwuani people are largely Igbo in origin and not Benin as it is popularly claimed.
