Abstract
The King James Version of the Bible say this in Matthew 7:7-8:
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
The question many ask, that I seek to find answers, when one ask: to whom do they speak? When someone seeks, what exactly will they find? In knocking, what door are they knocking on, as far as, are there right and wrong ways to knock? Does a person have to be here or there? The scripture above leaves little to no room for someone or something who is asking, seeking, and knocking not to be found or presented with some answer they seek. It is my quest to find what is prayer? When somebody prays, to whom are they praying to, deity, the atmosphere, or themselves? Why should someone pray? What is the purpose or benefit if any from prayer? Are there any important need to know items a person must be aware of for why a prayer(s) may not be answered? Lastly, is it possible to have unanswered prayers and if so, does prayer really work? It is my position and conclusion prayer still works today as it did in times of old. There is a way to pray, there are benefits to praying, and it is possible to have unanswered prayers, all while prayer still being effect.
