O knihe

Celiac Disease (CD) is an autoimmune disorder of digestive bowel. In this disease, many immunological tests were included to explain the role of the immune system which were Anti-endomycelial Antibody (EMA), Anti-tissue Transglutaminase Antibody (tTG), Anti-glutamic Acid Decarboxylase Antibody (GAD), Interferon Gamma (IFN-¿) and Interleukin-10 (IL-10). The results revealed that the level of antibodies of EMA, tTG and GAD significantly decreased in sera of patients under gluten free diet comparing with their levels in sera of newly diagnosed patients (under gluten diet), while significant elevation was observed in the levels of IFN-¿ and IL-10 of the two groups when comparing with the controlled group. The study also focused on the relationship between rotavirus infection and CD. The result concluded that rotavirus may considered to be one of the important causes of the affliction of CD, especially in children below 10 years of age.
