It has been especially pleasant to me to attend a number of rural congresses, and this has enabled me to be in my favor ite surroundings, sharing the same memot ies and the same desire for improvement as the rural environment, to which I am attached, not only by a patriotic aspiration for the greatness of the republic, but also by my private interests, because the progress of our farming lands bears directly upon the economic welfare of my home.
