O knihe
Excerpt from Maryland Medical Journal, Vol. 52: January, 1909
When water is precipitated upon the earth, either as rain or snow, a part evaporates and returns to the atmosphere. Of the remainder, a part goes off into streams, rivers and lakes, forming the surface waters, and a part descends into the ground to form ground waters. This descent continues until an impervious stratum is reached beneath the soil, generally clay or rock, where the water collects, to form subterranean reservoirs, streams or lakes.
