O knihe

Studying Greek tragedy, developed in antiquity, offers the reader the chance to analyse themselves on a path travelled by other men, in a given historical time, different from the one they are living in. The history of men, with its charms and discomforts, is a path towards the construction of a time yet to be lived by other men, but which, nevertheless, is a path towards a new time yet to be built. The tragic is always so present in people's lives, although in this day and age we believe we are immune to it and in a way try to live without its presence. Suffering, insecurity and contradictions are part of people's lives, and yet we claim that we can always live in a preserved, happy state. On the other hand, they fail to live their own human condition and, consequently, they fail to mature, their autonomy and the possibility of searching within themselves for the answers to their doubts and questions, which are necessary to live a just life.
