The world has been confronted with energy crisis due to depletion of finite resources of fossil fuel, difficulties in their extraction and processing, leading to an increase of its cost. Globally, effort to substitute alternative fuels for petroleum are gaining attention in a world threatened by climate change, rural economic decline and instability in major oil producing countries. This has led to an increased interest in utilizing agricultural and forestry wastes to produce biofuels. The work embodies five chapters.
