O knihe
This monograph is devoted to the structure of chronoecology, a little-developed branch of biological science. Biorhythms of different periodicity, from ultradian and circadian rhythms of activity to seasonal and multiannual population fluctuations, are described in the material of long-term studies in communities of small mammals. Ecological interpretations of the described cyclic rhythms are given. The material is presented in three parts according to the levels of organization of living things: organism, population, community. A general methodological approach to the study of various periodicities and a unified frequency representation of the spectra of their rhythms are proposed. The links of rhythms with different period lengths at different levels of the unified biorhythmological system are shown. The monograph is intended for students of biological faculties of universities, specialists studying biological rhythms, post-graduate students and teachers of biological specialties.
