The volume is doubly valuable because of its simplicity in presentation, and parents and gov ernesses may easily avail themselves of the work - a fact of great importance, inasmuch as the development of good speech, as the authors contend, rightly begins at home during the first five years of life. The scientific soundness of the subject-matter combined with the practical experience that the authors have incorporated here cannot be too thoroughly commended. It is a very welcome and timely work.
