O knihe
The soil is the medium which supports the plants and acts as the reservoir for nutrients and water which is being deteriorated due to increasing anthropogenic activities which render the soil properties which makes it useless for the plants to grow. The use of pesticides, combustion of fossil fuels, power plants, emissions and natural processes like volcanic eruption and weathering plays the lead role resulting in contamination of soil with toxic and heavy metals like Arsenic, which is not only toxic but also have carcinogenic properties that enters the human food chain through different sources of food which are grown in such soil contaminated due to Arsenic, hence it can result in several health issue. Phytoremediation is one of the best remedial technique to get rid of such contaminated soil using the hyper-accumulator plants that have the tendency to accumulate the contaminate the toxic element from the soil and store it in its plants tissues. In the present book, five different non-edible plants are used to remediate soils having different Arsenic concentration and making it less toxic and reusable.
