This book is based on a study on the importance of cattle production and trade in the social and economic life of the people of Adamawa state. Cattle production and trade is a whole industry of its own in the state and has provided means of livelihood to those involved in it. The research discovered that some of the cattle markets were demarcated with facilities such as convenience, shops and water supply. However, these are far from adequate. The researcher also discovered that there exists a lack lustre attitude of record keeping by the government and non - governmental agencies with regard to issues affecting cattle trade and the markets. The study recommends that facilities should be improved upon. Likewise, security should also be improved upon as large sums of money are carried to and from the markets. Major events should be recorded by the authorities concerned and be secured for posterity.
