O knihe

Climate change has significant and negative impact on agricultural productivity and food security in most of developing economies. It brought serious threat in larger agrarian countries because approximate 12 million hectares of arable land is serious degradation each year due to frequent drought and floods; and more than 1.2 billion people are undernourished in the world. This problem would be more alarming in era of climate change because food security of any region directly and indirectly get affect with agricultural productivity, significantly impacted by variability in weather parameters. This situation is in sharp contradiction to the millions who suffer from chronic diseases due to excess food consumption. However, in the developing world, one child dies every six second, and more people die every year due to hunger than from diseases like AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis together. India achieved self-sufficiency in food production since 1970 and it is most self sufficient country in food production.
