O knihe
Researchers are actively working on responsible consumption and decreasing the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Changing the behavior of the consumers requires an understanding of their consumption and disposal patterns. Internationally, this is a widely researched topic that aims at promoting sustainable consumer behavior. Although, it is well established that western countries have more prominent retail markets, studying them excluding the highly populated, developing countries like India ignores the plausibility of a global sustainability study. The clothing consumption and disposal behaviors of developing countries may diverge substantially from the western behavior patterns. India that has a history of consuming and disposing of sustainability is also moving toward the trend of overconsumption and overproduction. Clothing items are not disposed of by Indians until they are literally falling apart. It would be interesting to know the impact of overconsumption on consumption and disposal practices. The study thus aimed at fulfilling the gap by studying consumption and clothing disposal patterns in Indian females comparing NCR and Mumbai region.
