Genetic algorithm is a part of Evolutionary Programming techniques which are based on the Natural evolution of species. It includes - a proper definition of the initial parent population, reproduction through Cross-over and Mutation and Selection of the next generation/ offspring population. This book not only gives the implementation in High level languages like MATLAB, but it also shows how this can be converted to hardware very easily using a Hardware description language like Verilog, therefore making it easily implementable in hardware. Thus the main application of the algorithm like congestion control for networks can be embedded on all intermediate routers which helps in better Quality of Service in the next generation networks
