O knihe
Elderly is defined as age of 65 years or older. Gerontologists have recognized the diversity of old age by defining various sub-groups. According to age sub-grouping is young-old (65 to 74), middle-old (75-84), and oldest-old (85+). According to a 2012 report of the World Health Organization (WHO) approximately 142 million people or 8% of the population of WHO's South-East Asia Region are above the age of 60 years. The number of aged people will double by 2025 and triple by 2050 compared to 2004. The number of old people is growing around the world chiefly because of increases in the provision and standards of health care. By 2050, 33% of the developed world's population and almost 20% of the less developed world's population will be over 60 years old.
