Schistosomiasis is one of the major public health problems in Sudan after malaria infection. During infection with schistosomiasis, a large proportion of the eggs laid by the parasite become trapped in host organs such as the intestine and liver, inducing a Th2-dominated inflammatory reaction that contributes to the development of hepatic fibrosis, portal hypertension, and eventually, fatal hematemesis. So, this book aimed to help medical and medical laboratory students to understand the cytokines and immunoglobulins associated with schistosomiasis in human. The book covers topics related to schistosomiasis, cytokines and immunoglobulins. Besides, the book focuses on practical part related so as to give the students idea and knowledge about schistosomiasis diagnosis by using direct microscopical examination, Kato-Katz technique, Antigen-Specific Immunoglobulins (Igs) ELISA and Human Th1/Th2/Th9/Th17/Th22 13plex Kit FlowCytomix BMS817FF for quantitative detection of human IFN-¿, IL-1ß, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-9, IL-10, IL-12p70, IL-13, IL-17A, IL-22 and TNF-a by Flow Cytometry
