O knihe
Mine environment monitoring system, currently being practiced in most of the underground coal mines, is based on manual collection of gas samples. The gas samples are collected and subsequently analyzed and evaluated the degree of danger/probability of mine fire or explosion. On the other hand, in a few underground coal mines, telemonitoring techniques are also used which are based on static multipoint sensors. The disadvantage of the system is to monitor only those strategic points where the sensors are installed. For covering a comparatively large area, number of sensors are required to be increased, which increases the overall cost of the system. This clearly indicates the need for a flexible remote monitoring system, in order to minimize demerits associated with the existing static telemonitoring system. The broad objectives of the project consist of the following: (a) Design of a remote monitoring device. (b) Integration of sensors into the remote monitoring device. (c) Study of applicability of different traction system for movement of the designed device in underground coal mines. (d) Design of various alternatives of roof-mounted traction system.
