Louis desnoyers, better known perhaps by the pseudonym of Derville, was born in the village of Replonges in the department of Ain in 1805.
In 1828 he went to Paris and became a journalist of a somewhat turbulent type - a type common in those times of ferment which were pre paring the return to a republican form of govern ment, finally achieved only in 1870.
