Background; - Maternal and perinatal mortality are the crucial indicators used globally to assess, monitor, and evaluate maternal and newborn health. The global prevalence of maternal near miss, the MNM prevalence ranged from 3.10/1000 in Europe to 31.88/1000 live births in Africa, this figure indicates that the prevalence of MNM is very high in Africa compared to Europe. Objective; -The main objective of this study is to assess determinants of maternal near misses among admitted women in public health facilities of West Gojam Zone, Ethiopia. Method:-Health facility based unmatched case control studies were conducted from 22 September 2021 to 30 October 2021at public health facilities in West Gojam Zone, Ethiopia. The data were collected from selected public health facilities in West Gojam Zone. Data were collected using interviewer administered questionnaire and reviewing patients¿ records. Data were entered and analyzed by SPSS version 25. Bivariate and Multiple variable logistic regression analysis were done to identify independent predictors of maternal near miss.
