O knihe
In Côte d'Ivoire, one of the major public health problems encountered in immunization is the resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, one of the causes of which is the incomplete vaccination series for children aged 0 to 11 months in the routine EPI. In the city of Bondoukou, the problem posed by the abandonment of vaccination between the PENTA1 and the VAR has remained a concern for the past three years. In this context, a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study was conducted in this locality of the country in order to study the determinants of the high frequency of dropout of vaccination between PENTA1 and VAR in children aged 0-11 months. The study population consisted of mothers of children aged 12 to 23 months, i.e., those born between July 01, 2016 and June 01, 2017, who received at least PENTA1 as well as their parents (mothers). The following factors: lack of support from spouses for vaccination, lack of knowledge of the vaccination schedule and the occurrence of MAPI appeared to be the essential determinants of vaccination dropout in the city of Bondoukou.
