O knihe

A combination of sweet potato starch (SPS), MMT nanoclay, and thyme essential oil (TEO) was used to develop an active biodegradable nanocomposite film for food packaging. this study demonstrated the effectiveness of SPS/clay films containing TEO in controlling the growth of Escherichia coli and Salmonella Typhimurium and improving the microbiological quality of fresh produce (baby spinach leaves as an example), during refrigerated storage. Furthermore, the results improved the possibility of fabrication a nanocomposite film using sweet potato starch which can be used for food packaging industry which finding a way to minimize using the synthetic petroleum-based packaging and at the same time extending the shelf life of fresh produce.
