O knihe
To meet the ever-increasing demand of protein rich food for growing population of India, it is now the "Blue Revolution" after Green Revolution that may come to our rescue. Fish are a major component of most aquatic habitats. The Ganga & Yamuna are main capture fishery resources at Allahabad. A knowledge on the food and feeding habits of fish is important in understanding its biology and therefore for a successful management of any fishery. If there is sufficient variety of their respective diets to allow for adequate prey switching in the face of diminished food abundance, and therefore, maintenance of the pool community structure through competition avoidance. This indirectly results the much productivity or landing of these economically important cat fishes. The present study will hence focus on how the species coexisting in the some habitat. The aim of the study is to investigate the difference in the diet of these 2-3 fishes coexisting in close proximity and differential use of food resources in these two closely related species. It follows that competition structures their population.
