Recently, Nigeria has been inundated with declaration of elections inconclusive by the electoral governing body; Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Such has been received with mixed reactions among the populace. This research is informed by such reactions and seeks to examine the doctrine of inconclusive elections from the perspective of the law. Various legal opinions including judicial pronouncements have been critically examined. Recommendations havebeen proffered and it is the author's hope that such recommendations would form part of subsequent reforms of the Commission.
