O knihe
The Earth's low-latitude ionosphere most often shows the occurrence of large plasma density and velocity fluctuations with a broad range of scale sizes and amplitudes, known as ionospheric irregularities. The development and dynamics of these ionospheric irregularities can significantly disrupt radio wave communication and GPS navigation systems. Thus, the study of dynamics of low-latitude ionosphere is by definition an international discipline in space physics and exemplifies the way in which the human race can cooperate perfectly well at the highest technical and interpersonal levels. Since 1960's with the development of radar techniques as well as scientific satellites and optical imaging system, a whole new realm of ionospheric processes became amenable to scientific study. In particular, space scientists were able to reliably probe the dynamics of the low-latitude ionosphere. The main objective of this book is to present the electrodynamics of low-latitude ionosphere using the experimental results obtained from optical and radar observations. In addition, some backgrounds materials of low- latitude ionosphere have been discussed in brief.
