The book analyses and interprets cognition as it is expressed by language. Our cognition, communication and reflections are not only based on but are confined to the intelligible beings of language and meaning. The merit of the book sets in working out a philosophy free from metaphysical, physiological, religious and other entities and our allegiances to them. Spiritual purpose of philosophy of language is a point of attraction of the book well taken in Indian tradition. Unlike the Western Representationists and Essentialists who give primacy to meaning and perceive meaning transcendental to language, the book gives primacy to language and perceives meaning as that it expresses non-differently.
