O knihe

The study seeks to identify the optimum number of sessions of cognitive modification bias (CBM) training needed, aimed at changing negative attentional biases into more positive ones to effectively reduce anxiety and depression and increase wellbeing (Mental Mint, 2013a, 2013b). Research in this area is aimed at improving therapy in a clinical environment. Causality can be identified if the bias modification can effectively impact on the emotional state. Analysing the mood and emotions of participants seven days following the training tested durability of the effects of the training. The hypothesis predicts that there is a stronger cognitive modification bias following multiple training sessions in comparison with a single training session because there is reinforcement of the emotional valance. Furthermore, there will be greater durability seen in multiple training sessions because the magnitude of the bias change will be greater and more sustained. This is suggestive of the Network Theory of Affect (Rusting, 1998).
