O knihe

Water is an essential natural resource for sustaining life and environment and it is always thought to be available in abundance and is a free gift of nature. Fluorosis, an endemic public health problem, prevails in 22 nations around the globe. The excessive injection of fluoride through drinking water causes dental, skeletal and non-skeletal forms of fluorosis. The main natural source of inorganic fluoride in soil is the parent rock. During weathering fluoride minerals break down and dissolve in water. Fluorides are also released into the environment from industrial processes. This research report demonstrates the removal of fluoride using Al2O3-Pani-Zr coated Aluminium plate, which showed higher DC in aqueous solution. When this complex was used to remove fluoride, the maximum DC obtained was 4650 mgF-/kg and the adsorption of fluoride onto Al2O3-Pani-Zr complex was spontaneous and thermodynamically favorable. The mechanism of fluoride removal using Al2O3-Pani-Zr coated Aluminium plate was electrostatic attraction which was supported by FTIR and SEM analysis.
