O knihe

Heat dissipation is a drastic issue to tackle due to continued integration, miniaturization, compacting and lightening of equipment. Heat dissipaters are not only chosen for their thermal performance; but also, for other design parameters that includes weight, cost reduction and reliability, depending on application. This book is to propose an experimental analysis and CFD simulation of forced convection heat transfer through rectangular solid fin arrays and fin arrays with different size of perforation, different geometry of perforation and the shape of perforation. This research work explores the use of fins for light weight equipment. Due to perforations there is a weight reduction of the fins; consequently, reduction of the cost of material as far as manufacturing of equipment is concerned. Hence, it may be utilized for cooling of air cooled IC engines and many other industrial applications. This research work provides base for other researchers to further optimize geometry of fins, staggered perforation on lateral surface and continue the research work ahead.
