O knihe
As a signatory to the United Nations 1951 convention on the rights and status of refugees as well as the 1969 OAU convention on the rights of refugees in Africa, Ghana is obliged to ensure and safeguard the rights of refugees in her territory as provided by these international and regional conventions. It is in this regard that it is necessary to investigate and determine whether Ghana is really ensuring the rights of refugees in Egyeikron refugee camp as demanded by international law or not. In other words, what are implementation gaps as far as ensuring and protecting the rights of refugees in the camp are concerned The research design adopted for the study is the case-study approach, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. The research is situated in the obligation theory advanced by Nockerts, Regina, and Peter Van Arsdale. The theory of obligation is based on one important assumption which states that there exists a moral request or command for Society's wealthy individuals to assist those who are structurally deprived of their possession, property, freedom and functionally maltreated in one way or the other.
