The first chapter of book contains general and basic concepts and related definitions of environment, the history of the relationship between environment and transportation systems, necessity of environment impact assessment, different kinds of contaminations caused by transportation on environment, and approaches to eliminate air and noise pollution. The second and third chapters discuss issues such as urban transportation, review of different methods in management of transportation requirement in cities, investigating different types of possible methods in order to integrate the public transportation networks, purposes and necessities of urban sustainable transportation, unsustainable factors in the current urban transportation systems defining ASI strategy as one of proposed strategies to bring about urban sustainable transportation ,and finally planning principles and policy making in sustainable transportation achievement .The forth chapter includes some results and conclusions and in the end there is a brief discussion around the natural environment conferences have been held in this regard.
