O knihe
It was important to define the epidemiological pattern and pathophysiological profile of COVID-19. The sample consisted of 341 subjects. Fifty-six percent were women and 44% men. The usual residence was: 55.1% in the Manta canton, 34% in the rest of Manabí and 10.9% in the rest of Ecuador. The age groups were distributed as follows: preschoolers 2.6%, school children 4.4%, adolescents 7.9%, young adults 44.9% and older adults 40.2%. The contrast of chronic or pre-existing diseases (obesity, hypertension, diabetes and metabolic syndrome) at the time of data collection with the signs and symptoms that were presented and the result of any diagnosis made on the COVID-19 was relevant.
