O knihe
Nigeria has witnessed violent conflicts of various dimensions ranging from inter-communal, ethno-religious, and post-election among others. This book examines the consequences of ethno-religious conflict on education, through an empirical study conducted in Aduwan community located in the southern part of Kaduna State. The case study identifies the underlying causes of such conflicts. It further reveals that education requires a peaceful atmosphere to thrive, hence the need to mitigate conflict in society towards the achievement of sustainable peace and development. Based on the findings, the author recommends conflict prevention strategies, curriculum reform, the involvement of Civil Society Organizations and traditional institutions, as well as ensuring justice and fairness by the government.
