Evaluation of profitable farming systems in Punjab

It will be possible to solve national problems like economic, environmental degradation, groundwater contamination, high cost of production, and entry of toxic substances in to the food chain. To tackle such problems, farming system approach has been widely recognized and advocated as one of the tool for harmonious use of inputs and their compounded response to make the production system sustainable. The study will helpful in boosting the farmers towards adopting integrating farming systems. The analysis of farming system approaches by selecting successful farmers will provide encouragement to other farmers of Punjab to take up suitable farming approaches. This study will help in developing guidelines for all the Punjab farmers. The findings of study about profitability of integrated farming system and employment generation through integrated farming system will motivate other farmers. It will guide farmers how integrated farming systems enhance employment opportunities and income of the farmers leading to upliftment of standard of living.
