Every Psalm for Easy Singing

This is a new translation of the Psalms in verse for singing in a single metre.It is available in paperback, hardback and Ebook format.With its sister book (A Help for using the Psalms in Personal and Family Worship) it enables the singing of the complete Book of Psalms in a year. It is divided into the same 365 portions as the Help.It uses a single metre throughout, so that individuals and families can easily sing without requiring musical ability.It is produced in blank verse without the restriction that rhyme imposes on translation.It attempts to stay as close as possible to the inspired Hebrew words, whilst clearly expressing the meaning.It avoids dynamic translation that simply interprets difficult lines. It is translated from the Hebrew, with reference to a wide range of Hebrew study materials, lexicons and commentaries.It does not attempt to reinterpret the Psalms, or to use any of the modern English versions as its basis. In its preparation, Reformation and post-Reformation translations such as the Geneva Bible, the Authorised Version, The Welsh Bible, the Dutch States Bible (Statenvertaling), and Calvin's translation were constantly referred to, and regular reference was also made to the Septuagint. We have carefully distinguished Hebrew words in the translation, such as the different words used for man and for God.Tunes are provided in the book that can be used for singing through the book.
