O knihe
This book assess how well opportunity, pressure and rationalization from Cressey's fraud triangle theory can explain the reasons behind corruption in Nigerian institutions, and to assess the significance of capability from the fraud diamond theory, towards the detection and prevention of corruption in Nigeria. The researcher adopts the positivists' deductive approach, which enabled the generation of quantitative data through 25 questions in a well-structured questionnaire, obtained from a cross-section of 118 employees in Nigerian institutions. The methodology favours the use of One-Way ANOVA and some graphical illustrations. After the analysis of cross-section data, it was found that for a successful eradication of corruption in Nigeria the use of Cressey's idea of pressure and rationalization is required in a micro level to fight corruption from organisation to organisation, and the adoption of a more fundamental approach similar to Hong Kong's approach, to improve overall accountability and fight opportunity for corruption from a wider macro level.
