O knihe
In life we maintain many stories. Some of these stories or myths are products of our personalities while others are products of others perceptions of our reality. In either instance we can believe these myths and live them out with surprising clarity and blind or reluctant fulfillment. The primary myths of our lives are developed through our earliest experiences and many times direct our existence. This direction can help or hinder us in our pursuits to seek help and understanding. The addition of sexual victimization makes these pursuits even more difficult. Sexual violence not only affects the stories of the victim and perpetrator but also the community at-large. People with these stories must come forward and be heard in order for these stories to change. Sexual violence is no myth but the stories that have been created in response to such have invariably changed the landscape of the professional helping community. As such, professional helpers need multicultural knowledge to help those involved in sexual violence to re-author their stories.
