O knihe

Poverty in Nigeria has become perennial, paradoxical and disturbing, such that the country currently hosts the largest population of poor people globally. Ironically, foreign aids injected over the years to assist eradicate the poverty challenge has proven ineffective. Oftentimes, low revenue levels, poor governance and environmental dynamics top the list of factors that exacerbate the poverty rates. Regardless of the negative impacts of the recent COVID-19 pandemic on poverty levels generally, issues such as policy framework governing foreign aids inflow into the country as well as sectoral allocation and management of the aid resources are particular sources of concern in determining not just aids effectiveness but in tackling the bad impacts of the poverty-plague in the country, nonetheless. Consequently, the focus of this book is on those concerns. With an interest in 2010-2020, the book aims to assist relevant stakeholders in the application and management of foreign aid resources in Nigeria for a better outcome. In essence, the book is a major contribution towards assisting Nigeria to achieve the topmost priority of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal by 2030.
