The current interest in genealogy stems from the fact that it is both the auxiliary science of many human sciences, and a science of its own, that of the history of the origins and development of individuals grouped in families. There is no denying that every man passionately desires to know where he comes from in order to explain his present personality. If we had charts of ancestry and relatives for many social groups, we would certainly take a step forward in the explanation of many problems.
