guards, "Call for my scribes and my vizier immediately. I have need
of them." Th en, turning to face Ptahmose, he said, "I will make
this declaration, and it can be displayed tomorrow morning as the sun
rises. Now leave me, priest; I have to don my armour for the chariot race
that awaits me."
Bowing low to hide the triumph in his eyes, Ptahmose turned and left
the room. His heart was pounding with the rush of adrenalin that surged
through his veins. He had successfully achieved all that he had been
instructed to do by the fallen light beings. Th e great Pharaoh had just
unknowingly given up his power to Ptahmose, and Ptahmose dreamed of
his rewards.. He almost fl oated out of the palace, such was his euphoria.
He was not to know just how short-lived his success would be.
