With the success of his first novel, The Sun Also Rises, this style established him as the leading writer of the Lost Generation. He would go on to become a literary giant and celebrity, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1953 and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. He lived from 1899 to 1961.
