O knihe

This growing trend of urbanization comes with attendant consequences on climate, environmental hygiene, alteration in the balance of ecosystems, depletion of natural resources among other deleterious effects. Even as humans continue to interact with his environment, with the aim of finding comfort, this quest needs to be guided and properly monitored for sustainable interaction. The resolution is to save 'Man' and its 'dying environment' from the claws of observed environmental degradation, coupled with the worrisome health issues as it persist in the society. Much as Nature calls into the elites for their input and effort to making it get better and habitable, considering "Man" as the sole proprietor of the occupancy the earth, it constantly sparks up moments of reflection on what could be done to reduce the risk factors of poor environmental development. Thus, this book examined the observed rapidly increasing urbanization as peculiar to the coastal centers of Nigeria, and the potential impact on the Environment to assess the attendant need for Sustainability in Coastal Urban Development using Geo-spatial science and technology.
