However, the majority of cases are idiopathic Environmental toxins are claimed to play a causative role. This study explores the possible role of some heavy metals and aflatoxins. Apoptosis as a mechanism by which these chemicals might influence fetal growth was evaluated .The results are alarming. There is a need for global action.
